Barirone Ukulele Questions.

Post by Gilbert Fredrickson »

I've been asked to build a Martin Style 51 baritone uke. For a 14 fret, one piece neck, 20" scale, Spanish heel, which length 3"×3" blank will I need? Will an 18" cover it? Also, will my LMII dovetail joint templates work for cutting the joint, should I decide to go with a sliding dovetail?

Thank you.

From the nut face to the body you will need 11 3/32 inches. Add the width of the nut, the length of your Headstock and the length needed for the spanish heel. I think 18 inches will be OK if you are carefull.

Thank you. I suppose I could join the body and neck with a dovetail.
