Fretboard neck body what first?

Post by Tom Frei »

I have an old Washburn ( 1920s) that I am replacing the freatboard on plus neck reset. It's in 3 pieces. I'm not sure if I need to set neck to body (neck angle) first or glue fretboard to neck first?. (No truss rod just a rectangular neck rod.) Pics soon.)

I would think that there might be reasons to do it one way or the other. If the neck to body alignment is a bit off, you might want to glue the neck in first, then get the surfaces leveled before attaching the fretboard.

If everything lines up pretty well to begin with then you could do it either way.
