boning the herring

Post by Clay Schaeffer »

Herringbone purfling is a popular item offered by a number of vendors. I learned to cut it in the center to get it to make tight bends and to wrap around rosettes. But a couple of other things I have done with it is to use it in a half herringbone fashion and to "up end" the half which makes it appear as alternating black and white blocks.
Has anyone found other ways to use some of the common purflings?
