Laminated neck glue

I am moving over to laminated necks for my electrics. I am fine using a PVA or A resin for my electrics but since i dovetail my acoustics I am worried about if a reset is in its future about PVA or Alphatic resin separating. Is there a glue that will not gas off years later and ruin my finish ? Than...

24 AWG as pickup leads

I ran across a spool of 24 AWG stranded black and white twisted wire at the dump! Is this too thin to use as my pickup leads? Are there effects/problems of the different gauges of hookup wire? thanks!

Enduro Var and HVLP and LVLP

I am pretty happy with Enduro Var but need new guns. Does anybody have an opinion on what has or has not worked well for them either with EV or different guns and tips?

Does anyone have the measurements or specs on the bobbins that were used in the original Fender Wide Range Humbuckers?
Thanks!

Water Based Opaque Colors

I am using General Finishes Enduro Var and learned it does not work well with water based pigments. Someone at GF said that the Clear Poly would play well with pigments. Anybody have any advise? What are you recommendations for Pigment brands that work well with water based finishes? Looking specifi...

Re: Repair help - MM Sub4 bass output issue

I think I found it. a diode or transistor on the PCB was fried and fell off when I touched it. Contacted MM to see if I can get a replacement.

Thanks for looking and responding!

Repair help - MM Sub4 bass output issue

I got a MM Sub4 , standard single HB and active electronics 4 string, that has a weird output issue. It only has out put when the string is struck hard and then only briefly and distorted. Battery is good and the pickup reads 6.35K. Solder joints and connections look good. Any suggestions?

Reverse Kerfing

I am going back to reverse kerfing due to the side stiffening benefits but I was never happy with gluing it on. I don't like the faceted appearance in the inside and outside of curves and the occasional breakage.

Any tips people have on gluing these in would be helpful.

Thanks

Why do humbucker base plates have legs? Not an April Fools joke. Seems like a waste of metal and stampling.

Acoustic electric pickup - new build

Good customer wants a solid body acoustic styled electric (think Godin or Chet Atkins SST) and I am thinking about the pickup. It will have a traditional bridge with a bone saddle. I have installed hundreds of under the saddle pickups on regular acoustics. The challenge is to put a volume and tone p...

Re: Endurovar repair

I am in southern Maryland and use enduro-var. It drop fills pretty well. give it time to shrink back and you can get a good repair after buffing.
