On the 4th build, I finally got exactly the guitar I wanted. It's small: 12.5 W, 18 L. Made of Walnut with a spalted Maple top. Very bright sound with just a hint of metal body sound. Love it to death. Shown here with it's matched twin mandolin. I had just that much of the Maple to repurpose from a much older project.

May we all build the instrument we wanted! Good work!

Great!
I like your soundhole design.
Do you have some work-in-progress pictures?
Did you use a oil finish?

Yes, I really like the sound holes, too. What a great concept! Congratulations.

Unfortunately, Hans, only this one. With the first 3, I posted so many on my Facebook page that when I came to this one, I deemed that I had saturated the market, so to speak, and gave them a break. I don't use forms, just the pipe for bending. It's a standard X brace design inside, with a 1/8" arch both top and back. The finish is an oil/varnish mix.
Thank you Patrick. Great fun, can't wait to start the next one.
