Wagner Safety Planer

Post by Michael Baresi »

Does anyone know where I can get replacement blades for a Wagner brand safety planer?
All the blades I've found state they "do not fit Wagner brand"

Have you tried contacting them?
G & W Tool 11427 South, 250th East Ave
Broken Arrow OK 74014 (918) 486-2761

OK it sounds like the owner retired several years ago but someone is selling them on eBay out of Connecticut
https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-REPLACEMEN ... 1278707782

Oops, scratch that but they sure as heck look similar to the Wagner ones. I wonder if for liability reasons they "don't fit".

Have you asked the folks at StewMac if their blades will fit the Original? Theirs looks quite similar.

I got a set from Grizzly a few years ago, but they may not have them any more.

thanks guys
I looked at the stewmac blades and they state "not compatible with other brands"
Went to Grizzly and tried about a half dozen different searches and they all came up with about 1000 products but nothing related to safety planes or.

I'll look when I get to my shop tonight. I might have a set. I think I remember buying a replacement set some years ago when they were getting scarce. If I have them I'll be glad to sell them to you. I rarely use the safety planer, and doubt if I'll ever use up the blades on it before I die, or quit building!

Like Waddy I've got an old one sitting on a shelf that will probably never see action again. Once you've used a Bridgeport with a face mill with indexable carbide inserts it's hard to imagine going back.
